The Mini Cooper SE is one of the smallest electric cars that you can buy today in India. In fact, it was sold out when its first batch arrived in India with a hefty price tag of ₹47.20 lakh! Now, Mini USA has unveiled the Mini Cooper SE convertible! This is clearly a fun project taken up by the brand considering the ‘This Toy is Electric’ decals all around the car! Mini also claims that it is one of its kind electric hatchback which is a first for the auto industry.

Notably, It is a one-off model and Mini hasn’t mentioned yet if it will go into production. However, Mini could offer the next generation Cooper SE in the electric convertible avatar. The electronically operable soft top of the Mini Cooper SE convertible can open and close within 18 seconds and it can only be used at speeds up to 30 km/h.

Apart from the convertible top, This model of Cooper shares the same DNA and structure as Cooper SE. With the unchanged power, the Cooper SE convertible has a 32.6 kWh battery pack producing 184 hp and 270 nm of torque. Top speed is 150 km/h and 0-100km/h comes up in 7.3 seconds. The Mini Cooper SE can be charged from 0% to 80% in 36 mins with a 50 kW DC Charger, 2 hours 30 minutes with an 11 kW AC Charger and 9 hours 43 minutes with a 3 kW AC Charger.

With newly added active safety and driver assistance (ADAS) features the top-off version of Cooper SE is equipped with adaptive cruise control, auto emergency braking, traffic sign recognition, and adaptive headlights. Other features of this Mini include TPMS, Comfort Access keyless lock/unlock system, and heated front sports seats finished in a brighter Black Pearl Light Chequered upholstery.  Sharing the same Design as Mini Cooper SE, the convertible model has an attractive and modern hexagonal grille, round hallmark MINI LED headlights with integrated fog lamps. The new Electric Power Spoke alloy wheels and Energetic Yellow accents, such as mirror caps and MINI ‘S’ logos make it look even more sophisticated.

While the cabin will be equipped with an 8.8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, a 5-inch MID, ambient lighting, a wireless phone charger, and a Harmon Kardon sound system. It also comes with enhancing features of sports seats with Cloth/ Leatherette Combination Upholstery in Black Pearl/ Carbon Black with the addition being the Energetic yellow accents carried over from the outside. It offers 3 standard modes to choose from MID, SPORT, and GREEN mode.
